What is ROC the Day?

From the ROC the Day website:

ROC the Day is a 24-hour, online giving extravaganza powered by United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes that takes place annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, also known as Giving Tuesday. Roc the Day gives people in our community an opportunity to support all of the not-for-profit organizations doing great work in the nine-county Greater Rochester area. This year, Roc the Day will take place on November 29 from midnight to 11:59 pm.

Donors (our fabulous ROCstars) can make a real difference by giving to one or multiple organizations to support their philanthropic passions—whether that passion is for animals, arts & culture, education, health, religion, the environment, human services, or general community benefit. To make a gift, visit roctheday.org (a secure online giving platform) on November 29 and browse through our catalog of 500+ not-for-profits. It's an easy, one-stop way to fill your "cart" with causes that matter most to you. Let your friends, family, co-workers and social networks know about the causes you’ve chosen to support and encourage others to ROC the Day, too! All ROC the Day gifts will help local people and organizations.
